Campus Life oversees residential life and campus engagement at Arcadia University. Reporting to the Executive Director the Operations Manager is responsible for the administrative, financial, personnel, and organizational functions of the department.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage student housing selection, application, and assignments, including liaising with appropriate offices to coordinate appropriate billing and accommodations. Coordinate the implementation of housing and operations processes among professional staff to provide seamless service to students and maintain accurate billing practices. Train and develop other staff in housing application competence.
  • Develop communication, correspondence, and marketing in conjunction with University Relations and Enrollment Management about housing opportunities for returning and new students
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures for the residence halls and manage all transition periods
  • Serve as primary liaison with facilities staff on behalf of the department
  • Manage all desk functions both in the residence halls and the University Commons
  • Administrative and Financial: Manage financial expenditures for the department and monitors all related budgets
  • Personnel: Coordinates human resource activities and compliance with internal Human Resources procedures. Oversee personnel recruitment efforts for both professional and student staff. Lead staff appreciation efforts
  • Respond to family and parent inquiries
  • Assist with Division wide projects as directed by the Dean of Students and the Executive Director

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years Higher Education Experience
  • Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel, or related field required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success, and experience in building strong student relationships.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Availability for regular evening and weekend work
  • Ability to show professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive student personal, academic, or developmental issues.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication, and leadership skills, whether dealing with individuals or groups, and an ability to work well with different constituents.
  • Ability to work independently, and to manage project timelines
  • Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgement.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with prescribed operating procedures/policies, safety standards, and legal and liability issues.
