Under the leadership of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Business Analyst (BA) performs the critical function of supporting the University's administrative functional units and their use of enterprise applications. The BA provides functional as well as technical support to the end-user community. The BA possesses a solid, demonstrable knowledge of standard university business processes, applications, business intelligence, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) and documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the use and functions of the SalesForce/TargetX application in close alignment with the business needs of the functional unit (s), specifically,The College of Global Studies (TCGS).
  • Provide systems analysis and problem solving support to provide efficient and effective use of information systems in support of the functional area's strategic s goals and objectives.
  • Assists IT staff in reviewing business processes and makes recommendations for improvements including process automation and re-engineering.
  • Assists in providing technical support for administrative applications that support student academic records, financial records and university finance.
  • Coordinate planned upgrades to applications as appropriate by ensuring that the project manager, other enterprise application team members as well as end users are engaged.
  • Document the effort involved, the steps required, and the provision of information related to operational changes.
  • Assists with designing, programming, implementing, administering, and maintaining custom SQL, Self Service, SIS and other solutions.
  • Supports departmental staff and IT leadership with the identification, evaluation, selection, support and maintenance of administrative systems as assigned.
  • Provides maintenance, appropriate use, production and problem solving support, and ad-hoc reporting as well as data integration support for any administrative system

Uses information to determine benefits and impact in making decision and/or recommendations.

Project/Program/Service Management: Ability to coordinate and administer programs/project activities and protocols. Ability to manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality issues associated with the program/project.

Written and Oral Communications: Ability to present information to individuals or groups; ability to deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience. Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals ether verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message. Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others. Ability to impact and influence others to further the institution's strategic objectives.

Technical, Computer and Software Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Salesforce or TargetX experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the following applications/database or similar is a plus: Ellucian PowerCampus, PowerFAIDS, MS SQL.
