Job Description:

Arcadia University's College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Assistant Professor in Forensic Science starting September 2023. Responsibilities:

The Assistant Professor of Forensic Science is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position. A Master's degree in Forensic Science with at least 5 years as full-time faculty or equivalent relevant practitioner experience in Forensic Science (criminalistics) or Toxicology or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Science (criminalistics) or Forensic Toxicology or a closely related discipline is required; experience as academic or practitioner is preferred.

  • Teach graduate courses in Forensic Science (criminalistics) and/or Forensic Toxicology related fields and engage graduate students in research projects
  • Pursue a sustained research agenda and attract, advise, and mentor Forensic Science students in collaboration with faculty members
  • Enhance the status of the Forensic Science program nationally and internationally
  • Serve on university committees as requested or designated
  • Seek and obtain external grants within the program

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Master's degree in Forensic Science with at least 5 years as full-time faculty or equivalent relevant practitioner experience in Forensic Science (criminalistics) or Forensic Toxicology or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Science (criminalistics) or Forensic Toxicology or a closely related discipline is required;
  • An ongoing research program with a successful record of publications in peer-reviewed journals;
  • A commitment to high-quality instruction in a graduate student-centered environment is expected.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff members,
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills at both the conceptual and fine detail levels,
  • Adept interpersonal and communication skills within and beyond the program,
  • Skillful problem-solving capabilities with people, programs, and logistics,
  • An ability to work effectively in a team environment within the program, its affiliates, the College of Arts and Sciences, and Arcadia University,
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and knowledge about diversity, equity, and inclusion and embrace opportunities for continued growth in cultural competence is expected. Compensation
