Job Description: This is a 12-month tenure track Assistant Professor (or above) Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy faculty position. The position requires effective teaching in areas of content expertise within a highly integrated and collaborative entry-level DPT program (hybrid and residential). The faculty is committed to working in a collegial environment that values effective teaching, scholarship within a focused research agenda and professional service.

Location: Glenside

Essential Functions:

  • Works closely with Program Directors (Hybrid and Residential) to develop effective teaching encompassing three primary domains of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills
  • Student advising
  • Scholarly activity within a focused area
  • Service to the department, university, and profession

Marginal Functions:

  • Alumni activity engagement
  • Represent the department to external bodies
  • Provide and attend continuing education
  • Participate in experiential/pro bono learning experiences

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in physical therapy and an academic doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in related studies studies such as Bioinesiology, Biomechanics, Pathokinesiology, Biomedical, etc
  • Content and practice expertise in musculoskeletal physical therapy and disorders.
  • Capable, effective teaching in areas of content expertise is expected and occurs within a highly integrated curriculum delivered both on site and in an online hybrid format
  • Physical therapist licensed in PA or eligible for license in PA
  • Demonstrated record or clear potential for scholarship, research agenda synergistic with current faculty interests
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students in academic or clinical settings
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies consistent with hybrid education
  • Clinical experience in area of content expertise
